Would you sacrifice your soul for a chance at eternity? I remember my old life; It was decent, but nothing special. Those memories lingered in my new life; a blessed life. I was born an elf with a loving family, in an empire that no nation could hope to challenge. I had a peaceful existence, and plenty of opportunities with a long life ahead of me. The first sign came when I was six, when my half-brother offered a confection suspiciously similar to that from a game I played a few months before my death. Then came the magician, and finally, the knight. Empire and Kingdom, two entities destined to war, and my only reference for the inevitable. I searched for a solution, anything to survive what was coming. But every answer led to the same conclusion - I needed power. And I needed it fast. Cover is Ai, I'll commission an artist if I ever make a patreon :P What to expect: It isn't tagged because it's not a main focus of the story nor is it present for much of it but there is gay romance in book 3 onwards (and I do mean barely, I don't focus on romance at all. Most of the time it's just "oh these two side characters are in a/entered a relationship and you can tell because they outright said so or show blatant affection" so very surface level stuff) . If that's too much for you then don't read the book. And If you're looking for a GL or BL (or just romance in general, honestly) book then this ain't it mate. Important characters may die. Descriptive gore. Mixed pacing.
