While the manga-obsessed Maggie is willing to buy into the whole hero summoning shtick, James isn’t taking the bait. He wants to go home…and he can’t! Rather than accept his role as “a hero,” he decides to go find a new life for himself while Maggie goes off to…smite the ungodly? Battle the forces of cosmic dread? Summon the divine taco maker? Something appropriately isekai, no doubt. Of course, there are limited options for a guy who majored in political science and needs money. When in doubt and trapped in an isekai world, what else is there to do but become an adventurer? Of course, just because James is done with the whole hero thing, it doesn't mean the whole hero thing is done with him... This book is basically my take on the light novel style, albeit with a Western flavor and intended for adults. It will incorporate elements of isekai manga and anime, such as dungeons and kingdom politics. It will also feature some very, very, very light LitRPG elements (occasional status boxes, progression, and skills), although these elements will not play a large role in the book, especially in the first volume. In other words, if you're looking for a character sheet every other chapter or constant grinding, this won't be the story for you.
